French Delegation Visits Chess Museum in Moscow

Mayors of d'Orsay and Mantes-la-Jolie were accompanied by Bachar Kouatly.

On October 19, special guests came to see the CFR Chess Museum in Moscow. The visitors were David Ros, Mayor of d'Orsay, Raphael Cognet, Mayor of Mantes-la-Jolie, as well as FIDE Deputy President Bachar Kouatly. The day before, Mr Ros and Mr Cognet had won the chess tournament at the 10th International Parliamentary Games in Moscow.

The honoured guests showed the great interest in the Museum's supervisor, candidate of historical sciences Dmitry Oleynikov's story and description of the most prominent and valuable exhibits (from chaturanga to modern chess sets), shared their impressions and demonstrated their knowledge on the history of chess.

The representatives of France visited not only the Chess Museum but also the main halls of the Central Chess Club and were very enthusiastic about what they've seen.
