CFR Chess Museum's Collection Enlarges with David Bronstein's Medals

The grandmaster's widow Tatyana Boleslavskaya delivered the awards.

The CFR Chess Museum's collection was enlarged by unique exhibits: David Bronstein's medals. The awards were granted by Tatyana Boleslavskaya, the grandmaster's widow. The most valuable items are the medals for the first place in the USSR Championships (1948 and 1949) and the medals for the World Chess Olympiads won by the USSR team: Helsinki 1952, Amsterdam 1954, Moscow 1956, and Munich 1958. Bronstein played 49 games as a member of the national Olympic team, won 30 games, and lost only one. He showed the best individual result three times and once took second place (in Amsterdam).

We also thank V. Ginsburg and V. Ivanov, who helped deliver the medals and presented a fine portrait of David Bronstein to the Museum.
