Russian Youth Team Defeats India in Round 7 of Friendly Match in Sochi
Schoolchildren from Saint Petersburg take the lead in Belaya Ladya.
The seventh round of the 50th Belaya Ladya final was played in Dagomys on June 8. Results of the leaders' matches are as follows: Mongolia - Belarus 2-2, Armenia - Saint Petersburg 1-3, Sverdlovsk region - Novosibirsk region 1.5-2.5, Moscow - Belgorod region 3-1, Ryazan region - Nizhny Novgorod region 1.5-2.5.
The team from Saint Petersburg has taken the sole lead with 21 points out of 28. Teams from Belarus and Mongolia are 1 point behind.
Pairings and results
A match between school teams of Russia and India is being played as part of the event. It is a two-format contest in standard and blitz chess. A team is made up of two boys and two girls born in 2005 and later. The Russian team won 3.5-0.5 in the seventh round. The score is 15-13 in favour of the Russian chess players.
The teams are to play one more round in classical chess and 8 blitz rounds.

A rich cultural and entertaining program is traditionally organized for young players and will last throughout the entire event.
