Children Day at the Tal Memorial

The supertournament participants held simuls for young players.

The Central House of Chess Player hosted a social event on a rest day of the Tal Memorial. Such events are traditional for all tournaments held under the Chess in Museums program supported by RCF and Timchenko Charitable Foundation. The main attraction of the program were simultaneous displays by the world's leading grandmasters for the strongest students of Moscow sports schools and nominees of the Russian Highways state company.

The day started with the excursion to the RCF Chess Museum, conducted by the museum director Tatiana Kolesnikovich and museum curator Dmitry Oleinikov. Then followed the simuls of Evgeny Tomashevsky, Anish Giri, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, and Li Chao. RCF Executive Director Mark Glukhovsky had his word before the start of the games.

Mamedyarov and Li Chao won all their games. The grandmasters noted the performance of Patrik Pershin and Alexandra Naumova, students of the Russian Chess School.

Anish Giri drew with Lada Iljina and Irina Zakariadze.

Evgeny Tomashevsky lost to Ivan Kiryushin and drew with Egor Utrobin.

All young players received special gifts and diplomas from the organizers and posed to a collective photo with the grandmasters.
