The Youth Chess Festival among boys and girls under 14 years old as part of the Tal Memorial, the FIDE Grand Prix leg 2019.

The organizers are the Latvian and Russian Chess Federations. The events will be held in the ultramodern National Library of Latvia.

The event is a 7-round Swiss tournament, which is rated by FIDE. Time control: 60 minutes for the whole game with 10 seconds increment per move starting from the 1st.
The prize fund is 2,000 euros.
There will be prizes for players in various age categories as well. All participants will be given souvenirs and diplomas.
The entry fee for the festival (main and additional tournaments, simultaneous exhibition, and a master class) is 50 Euros.
The National Library of Latvia will host the second FIDE Grand Prix leg (July 11-25) featuring Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Anish Giri (Netherlands), Wesley So, Hikaru Nakamura (both from USA), Levon Aronian (Armenia), Alexander Grischuk, Sergey Karjakin, Peter Svidler, Nikita Vitiugov, Daniil Dubov (all from Russia), Yu Yangyi (China), Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria), David Navara (Czech Republic), Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland), Pentala Harikrishna (India).
On July 16-18, open rapid and blitz tournaments as part of the Tal Memorial will be held in Riga. The prize fund is 25,000 Euros. There will be special prizes as well.
