SC KPRF Wins FONBET Russian Chess Team Championship

The Sima-Land team is the women's champion.


Friday, May 10, the final Round 9 games of the FONBET Russian Team Championship finished at the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina in the city of Sochi. 

Premier League, Round 9:

Sports School Chess and Checkers (St. Petersburg) – Novosibirsk Oblast, 3.5:2.5
SK KPRF (Moscow) – Republic of Belarus, 4:2
Kimmeria (Republic of Crimea) – Voronezh, 2.5:3.5
Temus Team (Moscow) – Moscow Oblast, 1.5:4.5
ShSM (Moscow) – Russian Chess School (Moscow), 2.5:3.5

Final standings:

1. SC KPRF (Moscow) – 16 team points (37.5 board points) 
2. Moscow Chess Team – 15 (33.5)
3. Russian Chess School – 15 (33) 

The winner of the FONBET Russian women's team championship had been determined the day before – the Sima-Land team from Sverdlovsk Oblast was out of reach already after Round 8. Already a champion, Sima-Land went on to confidently win their final match. 

Women's Championship – Results of matches played by rating favourites:

Sima-Land – Yamal (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), 3.5:0.5
ZhK Tatarstan – Sports School Chess and Checkers-1 (St. Petersburg), 0.5:3.5

The winner of the runner-up won the Higher League event have qualified for the next year's Premier League. They will replace the teams that finished 9th and 10th in the Premier League.

Russian Youth Championship (born in 2010 and later):

1. Zhansaya Abdumalik Chess Academy-1 (Kazakhstan) – 15 (25)
2. Youth Sports School named after M. Botvinnik (Moscow) – 15 (25)
3. Molniya 64 (Saratov Oblast) – 12 (21).

Russian Youth Championship among girls born in 2010 and later:

For the first time in the history of the tournament, a special prize from FONBET - a trip for two persons to the Superfinal of the FONBET Russian Football Cup - was established for the best game of the XXXI Russian Championship Premier League. The prestigious jury, consisting of captains of the Premier League teams and chaired by the CFR Executive Director Alexander Tkachev, voted for the Remizov vs. Truskavetsky game, in which White won. Thus, Yaroslav Remizov will be a guest of the grandiose football event to take place on 2 June at the Luzhniki Stadium.
