Minsk Will Host Women's KO World Championship
A stage of the Women's Grand Prix will also be organized in the capital of Belarus.
A meeting between Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko and FIDE president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov took place on December 18. The presidents agreed upon organizing major chess events in the capital of Belarus. They decided that next year Minsk will host a women's Grand Prix stage and the Women's World Championship in a knock-our format (the latter will take place approximately in November).
