WR Chess Maintains Leadership in Düsseldorf

Eight rounds are played at the FIDE World Rapid Team Championship.

The FIDE World Rapid Team Championship goes on in Düsseldorf, Germany. The WR Chess team (Wesley So, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Vincent Keymer, Hou Yifan, Alexandra Kosteniuk, and Wadim Rosenstein) keeps leading the race with all the matches won (16 match points). 

Freedom is on second place with 13 match points. The team consists of Viswanathan Anand, Daniil Dubov, Vidit Santosh, Richard Rapport, Evgeniy Najer, Polina Shuvalova, Jovana Rapport, and Alexander Shapiro.  

Team MGD1, Ashdod Elit Chess Club, and Six-pack have scored 11 match points each.

The final four rounds will be played on 28 August.
