Vladislav Artemiev Wins European Blitz Championship

The European Blitz Championship finished in Skopje. More than 300 participants played 12 double rounds.
The rating favourite Vladislav Artemiev (Russia) scored 18.5 points out of 22 to become the European Blitz Champion. Ivan Cheparinov (Georgia) is 1.5 points behind. David Navara (Czech Republic) won a bronze medal with 16.5 points.
The Russians Mikhail Demidov and Andrey Esipenko as well as the Azerbaijani grandmasters Gadir Guseinov and Rauf Mamedov finished half step behind the award-winning trio.
The capital of the Republic of Macedonia will host the European Rapid Championship on December 8-9. The winner will be determined after 13 rounds.
