Vladislav Artemiev Takes Lead at Aimchess US Rapid

Magnus Carlsen and Levon Aronian are half a point behind.

Rounds 6-10 of the Aimchess US Rapid, the final 9th event of the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, were played on the Chess24.com on the 29th of August. 

Vladislav Artemiev has taken the sole lead in the preliminary event, having scored 7.5 points. On the second day, the Russian defeated Awonder Liang, Levon Aronian, and Jorden Van Foreest and drew with Anish Giri and Magnus Carlsen. The world champion and Levon Aronian are half a point behind the leader. 

Standings after 10 rounds:

The final five rounds of the prelim stage will be played on the 30th of August. The best eight players will qualify for the knockout.
