Valentina Gunina Wins Women's Chess Championship in Tashkent

The Women's Chess Championship 2023 finished in the capital of Uzbekistan. The A Group, which had brought together 45 players, was won by the Russian Valentina Gunina. The winner scored 7.5 points out of 9. 

Nilufar Yakubbaeva (Uzbekistan), the Russians Anastasia Bodnaruk and Polina Shuvalova, as well as Liya Kurmangaliyeva (Kazakhstan), are 1 point behind the winner. According to the tie-break, Yakubbaeva is in second place, while Bodnaruk is third. Shuvalova finished fifth.
