Third GCT Stage Starts in Paris
Russia is represented by three players.
The 2019 Paris GCT Rapid & Blitz tournament will take place in the capital of France from July 27 till August 1. 10 participants will play 9 rounds of rapid chess and 18 rounds of blitz with a total prize fund of $150,000.
Participants: Hikaru Nakamura (USA), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Fabiano Caruana (USA), Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia), Anish Giri (Netherlands), Viswanathan Anand (India), Alexander Grischuk (Russia), Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland), and Daniil Dubov (Russia).
A player gets 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss in rapid, and 1 point for a win, 1⁄2 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss in blitz.
The match days: rapid - July 27-29, blitz - July 31, August 1. Free day is July 30.
The rounds start at 4 p.m. (Moscow time), while the games of the final day will begin at 3 p.m. (Moscow time).
