Venue for King Salman Rapid & Blitz Championships Announced

The event to take place in the VIP zone of Luzhniki Stadium.

The King Salman Rapid and Blitz Championships 2019 will be held in the VIP zone of the Grand Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex. It is the largest sports and entertainment complex in Russia, occupying 150 ha. Luzhniki is located in one of the most picturesque and unpolluted areas of Moscow, on a bend of the Moskva River, in front of the Vorobyovy Gory (Sparrow Hills) and the Neskuchny Garden. The Luzhniki Olympic Complex got a new lease on life during the preparation process before the 2018 FIFA World Cup: the Grand Sports Arena and its surrounding area were hugely reconstructed.

The chess players will compete in a spacious, light, and well-ventilated area with a nice view of the main Russian football arena. The playing venue is located in the Sector С, the entrance is from the central alley right after the Monument to Lenin. The arena is approximately 10 minutes' walk from Sportivnaya and Vorobyovy Gory metro stations; the Luzhniki station of the Moscow Central Circle is even closer.

The official hotel of the WRBC-2019 is Radisson Collection Hotel Moscow, which is also known as Hotel Ukraina, one of the famous "Seven Sisters" of Moscow. A transfer from the hotel to the playing venue and back will be organized for the participants.
