Dmitry Bocharov Wins Vladimir Dvorkovich Memorial

The grandmaster scored 8 out of 9.

For two weeks the city of Taganrog hosted Vladimir Dvorkovich Memorial chess festival. Its main competition, a leg of the Russian Cup 2016, ended on January 27 in a victory of grandmaster Dmitry Bocharov from Novosibirsk. Former Russian champion Sergey Volkov (Saransk) took the second place, Farrukh Amonatov (St. Petersburg) finished third. 

Maxim Lugovskoy produced the best result among juniors, Andrey Esipenko was second, Vassily Korchmar was third. 

Gennady Tunik won the seniors competition, Alexander Zakharov finished second, Evgeny Potemkin, master of chess videos, was third. 

Apart from chess competitions in many different formats, there was a number of other activities during the Memorial, including a seminar for junior chess arbiters, various master classes and chess trivia.
