Second Leg of Regional Blitz Grand Prix Ends in Ivanovo

Igor Kutyrov prevailed.

The second event of the Ivanovo Regional Blitz Grand Prix took place on February 25 at the Regional Library for Children and Youth in the city of Ivanovo. 

The Grand Prix system was created this year and includes eight separate tournaments. From each event, the most successful players qualify for the final tournament, where the main prizes are at a stake. FIDE and Russian national ratings are calculated in each event. 

The first leg took place on January 29 in Privolzhsk, the second one was played in Ivanovo, and the third one is planned in Kineshma somewhere in March.

The youngest participant of the Ivanovo event was just 6 years old, the oldest was 78. 

Final standings:

1st place – Igor Kutyrov (Ivanovo)
2nd place – Sergey Otrezov (Ivanovo)
3rd place – Vladimir Novikov (Ivanovo)
4th place – Margarita Schepetkova (Vladimir)

Special prizes received Boris Plotnikov and Grigory Vasyugin. Vladimir Strunnikov (Ivanovo) won the senior prize. 

Otrezov, Novikov, Schepetkova, and Strunnikov qualified for the final tournament, which will take place in Ivanovo in December.
