Second Half of FIDE Candidates Tournament Begins in Yekaterinburg
The first games will be played on April 19.
The eighth round of the resuming FIDE Candidates Tournament will be held in Yekaterinburg on April 19. The grandmasters will play seven rounds to determine Magnus Carlsen's rival in the World Championship Match.
Standings after Round 7:
1-2. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia) – 4.5;
3-6. Fabiano Caruana (USA), Anish Giri (Netherlands), Wang Hao (China), Alexander Grischuk (Russia) – 3.5;
7-8. Ding Liren (China), Kirill Alekseenko (Russia) – 2.5.

Wang Hao – Ding Liren

Schedule:
The match days: April 19-21, 23-24, and 26-27. Rest days are April 22 and 25. The tie-break, if necessary, will be played on April 28. The rounds start at 2 PM Moscow time.
The official broadcast will feature well-known commentators: Sergei Shipov in Russian, Daniil Dubov, Amira Skripchenko and Evgeny Miroshnichenko in English, and Hou Yifan and Peng Peng Zhaoqin in Chinese.
