Schoolchildren from Moscow Lead Race at Belaya Ladya After 6 Rounds

The Debut team competition is drawing to its close.


The sixth round of the all-Russian school team competition "Belaya Ladya" final was played in the AMAKS Resort "Orbita" (Olginka, Krasnodar Krai) on 7 June. 

The results of the leaders' matches are as follows:

Tatarstan - Moscow 0.5-3.5
Moscow Oblast - Kyrgyzstan 3-1
Tyumen Oblast - Belarus 3-1
Zabaykalsky Krai - Altai Krai 1.5-2.5
Sverdlovsk Oblast - Novosibirsk Oblast 1.5-2.5

Standings:

1. Moscow - 19.5 board points (12 match points)
2. Moscow Oblast - 18.5 (10)
3. Tyumen Oblast - 16.5 (9)
4. Chelyabinsk Oblast - 16 (8)
5. Altai Krai - 15.5 (10)
6. Khabarovsk Krai - 15.5 (9)
7. Novosibirsk Oblast - 15.5 (8), etc.

The seventh round will be played on 8 June at 10 AM Moscow time. The competition is a 9-round Swiss event. Each team consists of four players (with at least one girl) and one coach. The match days are 2-10 June.

Eight rounds of the Debut team tournament, an annual final event of the Chess in Schools project, have been completed. 

Standings before the last round:

1. Udmurtia - 12 match points (22.5 board points)
2. Pskov Oblast - 12 (22)
3. Rostov Oblast - 10 (19.5)
4. Tula Oblast - 10 (18)
5. Ingushetia - 10 (17.5), etc.

The participants of the Debut team tournament are the pupils of schools from 17 regions of Russia, which have taken part in the project. A team is composed of four players (not less than one girl) born in 2013 and later and one team manager/captain.

An eventful additional programme continues: the football, basketball, tennis, and other competitions are being organised. Grandmasters Sergei Rublevsky and Mikhail Kobalia keep delivering lectures and giving master classes for the participants and their coaches. The many-time world champion in chess solving Oleg Pervakov held a simultaneous exhibition in studies.
