Russian Women's Team Wins Match against Israel
Russian men made draw with Denmark.
The first round of the European Team Championships was played in Batumi on October 24.
Not all rating favourites won at the start of the open event. The Russian team made a draw with Team Denmark (Dmitry Andreikin and Daniil Dubov won, while Kirill Alekseenko and Maxim Matlakov lost).
The Austria - England and Germany - Republic of North Macedonia matches were also drawn.
The Russian team will face Austria in the second round.
The Russian women's team defeated Israel 3.5-0.5 (Kateryna Lagno, Olga Girya, and Valentina Gunina won, Aleksandra Goryachkina made a draw).
Some relatively unexpected results took place in the women's section as well, e.g. draws in the Poland - Greece and Croatia - Hungary encounters.
The second Georgian team will be the rival of the Russian women's team.
