Russian Teams Maintain Leadership at European Championship

In round 3 of the the European Team Championship in Greece, the Russian men’s team defeated Czech Republic 2.5-1.5 (Ian Nepomniachtchi won, Alexander Grischuk, Nikita Vitiugov, and Maxim Matlakov drew their games).Our national team has become the sole leader with 6 match points after three rounds. The teams of Hungary, Germany, the Netherlands, Croatia, Israel, Armenia, and Poland are 1 point behind.
In round 4, the Russians will face Hungary.

The Russian women’s team won the match against Ukraine 2.5-1.5 (Valentina Gunina won, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Kateryna Lagno, and Olga Girya drew their games).
The teams of Georgia, Spain, Poland, and Russia have scored 6 match points each.
