Richard Rapport Pulls Ahead in Stavanger

Both Russian players lost in Round 7.

The seventh round of the Norway Chess was played in Stavanger on the 14th of September. The tournament leader Richard Rapport defeated Sergey Karjakin with the white pieces, Ian Nepomniachtchi lost to Alireza Firouzja as Black, whilst Magnus Carlsen beat Aryan Tari.

 

 
A win in a classical game is worth 3 points and a loss 0. If the players draw, they play an Armageddon game, where the winner earns 1.5 points and the loser 1 point.
