RCF President Andrey Filatov Donates Unique Chess Set Made of Venetian Glass to RCF Chess Museum

This work was made by a celebrated Italian master Raffaeli Moretti.

The RCF Chess Museum, located at Gogolevskiy Boulevard, 14- received a spectacular gift from RCF President Andrey Filatov: a chess set made of Venetian glass titled “Catholics and Jews”.  The hand-made work of the famous master of this sphere- Venetian Moretti Raffaeli- encompasses seven centuries of tradition of Venetian glass. This chess set was conceived in 1969 and is considered a jewel in the crown of those famous museums fortunate to possess them.

Venetian glass is glass that is made with ancient technologies that originate from the island of Murano, near Venice. Since Venetian glass is often faked, the Promovetro association of glass-producers created and registered the mark of Vetro Artistico Murano in 1994, in order to protect the original works.

Entry to the Museum is free, but visitors need to register beforehand by calling +7-495-212-06-13 or +7-495-691-97-55.
