Pavel Ponkratov Wins Rapid in Serpukhov
The event is a part of the Russian Rapid Grand Prix.
More than 130 players took part in the Serpukhov leg of the Russian Rapid Grand Prix. Pavel Ponkratov and Dmitry Frolyanov scored 9 points in 11 games and tied for first place. The grandmaster from Chelyabinsk had a superior tie-break score and therefore was proclaimed a winner. Dmitry Andreikin and Sergey Volkov finished half a point behind them. Alina Bivol showed the best result among women – 7.5 points.
The festival will continue with a junior tournament.
