Moscow Chess Team Pulls Ahead of Russian Championship Premier League

Yugra maintains leadership at the women's tournament.


The Russian Team Championships continue in the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina, Sochi.

Round 4 results in the Premier League are as follows:

M. Botvinnik School (Moscow) - Gogolevsky, 14 (Moscow) 4.5-1.5
Ladya (Tatarstan) - Southern Ural (Chelyabinsk Oblast) 2-4
KPRF Sports Club (Moscow) - Mednyi Vsadnik (Saint Petersburg) 3-3
SShOR ShSh (Saint Petersburg) - Moscow Chess Team 2-4.

Standings after Round 4:

1. Moscow Chess Team - 8 match points (16), 2. Mednyi Vsadnik - 7 (13.5), 3. M. Botvinnik School - 6 (15), etc.

6 May is a rest day at the Championship.

Southern Ural - KPRF Sports Club

In the women's event, Yugra defeated Ladya (Tatarstan) 2.5-1.5 in a tough match. The Moscow Chess Team crushed Southern Ural-1 (Chelyabinsk Oblast) 4-0.

Standings after Round 5:

1. Yugra - 10 (14.5), 2. Moscow Chess Team - 8 (15). Six teams have scored 6 points each.

The central matches of the sixth round are Yugra - Southern Ural-2 (Chelyabinsk Oblast), SShOR ShSh-2 (Saint Petersburg) - Moscow Chess Team, and Southern Ural-1 - Ladya.  

Inleksis (Voronezh Oblast) has taken the sole lead in the Higher League with 9 match points (14). Temus Team (Moscow), Yamal (YaNAO), and the Krasnodar Regional Chess Federation are 1 point behind.

The Anatoly Karpov Chess School is the leader of the U15 open championship with 10 points. AlfaZero (Moscow) won all the matches in the girls' event.
