Moscow Chess Team Clinches Victory at Russian Championship Premier League

Yugra is close to win the women's event.



The Russian Team Championships continue in the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina, Sochi.

In the sixth round of the Premier League, the leading Moscow Chess Team won against its nearest pursuers, Mednyi Vsadnik from Saint Petersburg, 3.5-2.5 (Evgeniy Najer defeated Andrey Esipenko, Ivan Popov bested Valerij Popov, Boris Grachev lost to Pavel Ponkratov, while the games Matlakov - Riazantsev, Inarkiev - Sakaev, and Lobanov - Demidov were drawn). Having won all the six matches, the Moscow Chess Team won the Russian Championship Premier League with one round to spare. Our congratulations!

1. Moscow Chess Team - 12 match points (23), 2. M. Botvinnik School - 8 (21), 3. Mednyi Vsadnik - 8 (19), etc.

9 May is a rest day at the Premier League.

Moscow Chess Team - Moscow Oblast 2-2
Southern Ural-1 (Chelyabinsk Oblast) - SShOR ShSh-1 (Saint Petersburg) 3-1.

Standings after Round 7:

1. Yugra - 14 (20.5), 2. Moscow Chess Team - 10 (19), 3. Southern Ural-1 - 10 (16.5), etc.

Inleksis (Voronezh Oblast) maintains leadership in the Higher League with 12 match points (18.5). Yamal (YaNAO) is in second place with 11 (17) points, while the Novosibirsk Regional Team, Strong Character-2, and Southern Ural-2 have got 10 match points each.
