Nina Medyanikova is 80

We congratulate the international arbiter on her jubilee!

Nina Semenovna Medyanikova was born on January 27, 1936, in Kem, Karelia. After graduation she worked as an engineer and moved to Moscow. She won Moscow women's championships in 1969, 1971, and 1972, and became a multiple time champion of the Lokomotiv Sports Union. She participated in USSR championships seven times, and won a bronze medal in one of them. International master since 1970, won international tournaments in Sofia and Moscow. 

Over the course of time she switched to arbiter's career, and became an international arbiter in 1999. Many times she was a chief arbiter on Moscow women's championships, and refereed a major international tournament dedicated to 70th birthday of the legendary Nona Gaprindashvili in 2011.
