Mednyi Vsadnik Takes Sole Lead at Russian Team Championship

St. Petersburg pulls ahead in the women's event.


The fourth round of the Russian Team Championships among men and women was played in the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina in Sochi on November 22.

Results of the open tournament:

Mednyi Vsadnik (St. Petersburg - Chess Federation of Moscow (CFM) 3.5-2.5, Ladya (Tatarstan) - Cimmeria (Crimea) 4-2, M. Botvinnik school (Moscow) - CPRF (Moscow) 2-4, Molodezhka (Tyumen region) - Olympic reserve school (St. Petersburg) 5.5-0.5, Moscow region - Achimgaz (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) 2.5-3.5.

Mednyi Vsadnik has become the sole leader with 8 match points scored. Ladya is 1 point behind, while Molodezhka, CFM, and M. Botvinnik school have got 6 points.

Achimgaz - Mednyi Vsadnik, Olympic reserve school - Moscow region, CPRF - Molodezhka, Cimmeria - B. Botvinnik school, CFM - Ladya.

Ugra - CFM 1.5-2.5, Moscow region - Olympic reserve school-1 0-4, Cimmeria - Amazones Yadda (Kursk region) 2.5-1.5, Achimgaz - Ladya 1.5-2.5, Chess Federation of Nizny Novgorod region - Olympic reserve school-2 2.5-1.5, Tolpar (Bashkortostan) - Belgorod State University 2-2. 

The Olympic reserve school-1 from St. Petersburg has pulled ahead having scored 7 points out of 8. CFM is trailing by 1 point, Ugra, Cimmeria, and Ladya by 2 points.
