Magnus Carlsen Wins GRENKE Chess Classic

Another phenomenal result by the World Champion.

The final ninth round of the GRENKE Chess Classic was played in Baden-Baden on April 29. Shortly after his brilliant win of the Vugar Gashimov Memorial in Shamkir, Magnus Carlsen celebrated another phenomenal victory in Germany. 

In round 9, the World Champion defeated Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Arkadij Naiditsch beat Georg Meier, while Vincent Keymer lost to Francisco Vallejo. The games Caruana - Aronian and Anand -Svidler were drawn.

2. Fabiano Caruana - 6
3-4. Arkadij Naiditsch, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave - 5
5-7. Peter Svidler, Viswanathan Anand, Levon Aronian - 4.5
