Joint Project of RCF and Timchenko Foundation Starts in Altai Krai
First participating schools were given certificates and chess sets.
First participants of the Chess at Schools educational project of RCF and Charitable Foundation of Elena and Gennady Timchenko received certificates along with chess sets and study materials. Total cost of the materials received by 61 schools from 34 municipalities of the Altai Krai is 2 million roubles. 40 more schools will join the program in the next academic year.
The certification ceremony took place in Altai Krai Government offices on January 20. Andrey Schukin, Deputy Chairman of Regional Government, Alexander Zhidkikh, Minister of Science and Education, Elena Lebedeva, Head of Sports and Youth Policies Department, Maxim Gerasimyuk, Head of Mass Communication Department, and Artyom Polomoshnov, Head of Altai Chess Federation, were present at the ceremony. School representatives received the aid in a local chess club on the same day.
