Ian Nepomniachtchi Wins FIDE Candidates Tournament with One Round to Spare

Having made a draw against Richard Rapport in Round 13 of the FIDE Candidates Tournament in Madrid, Ian Nepomniachtchi became out of reach for his pursuers and won the event with one round to go. Upon winning his second Candidates Tournament in a row, the Russian grandmaster has qualified for the World Championship Match.

It is apparent that Ian showed strong spirit and will, has overcome every challenge that he had faced after the Match, and reassessed many things. Despite various sceptical forecasts, he'd become stronger and showed a phenomenal result in Madrid. 

Hikaru Nakamura won against Jan-Krzysztof Duda as White, while the games Firouzja - Ding and Radjabov - Caruana were drawn.
