The departing year of 2018 was interesting, tense, and eventful for chess players from the whole world.
The year turned out to be quite successful for the Russian chess players and finished on a victorious note at the King Salman World Rapid and Blitz Championships in Saint Petersburg.
On behalf of the Russian Chess Federation, I would like to wish a happy New Year to everyone and thank all the people who make a contribution to promoting our sport: professionals and amateurs, our partners, sponsors, and journalists.
