Grischuk And Aronian Will Open Chess.com Blitz Championship

Their match begins at 9 pm on April 6.

The match between Levon Aronian (Armenia) and Alexander Grischuk (Russia) will open the Chess.com 2016 blitz championship. 

Aronian and Grischuk are among the most experienced rapid and blitz players. During the 3-hour match they will be playing blitz and superblitz, and the winner will advance to the next round to play the winner of the match between Magnus Carlsen and an online qualifier. Other participants of the tournament are Hikaru Nakamura (USA), Pentala Harikrishna (India), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), and Fabiano Caruana (USA).

Grandmaster Sergey Shipov will comment all games in Russian live on Twitch. 

The championship will last until December. The total prize fund is 40,000 USD.
