First Round of FIDE Grand Prix Leg Finishes in Moscow
Hikaru Nakamura and Wesley So advance to quarterfinals.
The tie-break of the first round of the FIDE Grand Prix leg in Moscow was played in the Central Chess Club on May 19. The first symbolic move in the game So - Duda was made by the President of the Chess Federation of the Central Federal District Sergey Lazarev.
Hikaru Nakamura won the first rapid game against Teimour Radjabov, while the second game ended in a draw.
Like his compatriot, Wesley So defeated Jan-Krzysztof in the first rapid game, and the Polish grandmaster did not manage to win back in the second.
Having won their matches 2.5-1.5, the American grandmasters Hikaru Nakamura and Wesley So advanced to the second round.
