First Armageddon was played as well.
The quarterfinals of the Russian Cup final among men and the semi-final of the women's event finished in the capital of Ugra on December 8.
In the open event, Alexey Sarana defeated Dmitry Kryakvin 2-0, Sanan Sjugirov eliminated Aleksey Goganov 1.5-0.5, Maksim Chigaev bested Dmitry Kokarev 2.5-1.5, while Stefan Pogosyan won against Sergey Volkov 3-2 (the match ended in the Armageddon).
Semi-final pairings:
Pagosyan - Sjugirov and Sarana - Chigaev.
In the women's tournament, Oksana Gritsayeva defeated Ekaterina Goltseva 1.5-0.5, while Marina Guseva eliminated Leya Garifullina with the same score.
Final pairings:
Guseva - Gritsayeva.
First games of the third round will be played on December 9.
