Fabiano Caruana Wins Tata Steel Chess Tournament with 1 Round to Go

He defeated Jan-Krzysztof Duda in Round 12.


The penultimate 12th round of the Tata Steel Masters Tournament in Wijk aan Zee was played on January 25. Fabiano Caruana defeated Jan-Krzysztof Duda and secured victory in the tournament with 1 round to spare as Magnus Carlsen is 1.5 points behind. The American grandmaster win the traditional tournament in Wijk aan Zee for the first time in his career.

Daniil Dubov won against Yu Yangyi, while the games Xiong - Giri, Van Foreest - So, Carlsen - Artemiev, Anand - Kovalev, and Vitiugov - Firouzja were drawn.
