European Senior Championships Are Underway in Rhodes
Russians lead in two groups.

Six rounds were played at the European Senior Chess Championships, which are being held on the Greek island Rhodes.
Yuri Balashov, Evgenij Kalegin (both from Russia), and Jens Kristiansen (Denmark) are leading the "65+" group with 5 points.
The "50+" group is headed by Milos Pavlovic (Serbia), who has scored 5 points. Tatiana Grabuzova (Russia) is among those players who are 1 point behind the leader.
Elena Fatalibekova (Russia) has taken the lead in the women's event with 4.5 points. Tamar Khmiadashvili (Georgia) and Tamara Sorokina (Russia) are trailing by half a point.
