European Chess Solving Championship Was Held in Riga

Russian children and adults showed excellent results.

The 13th European Chess Solving Championship took place in Riga on May 12-14.

The winner of the open tournament was Bojan Vučković (Serbia) with 43 points out of 60, ahead of Kacper Piorun (Poland) and Boris Tummes (Germany).

The Polish team (A. Misha, K. Piorun, P. Murzia, and P. Gorski) won the team competition. 

The Serbian team gained silver medals (M. Kovacevic, V. Podinic, B. Vuckovic, and M. Mladenovic).

The Russian team (A. Mukoseev, E. Viktorov, L. Pavlov, and D. Pletnev) was ranked third. 

Peter Murzia (Poland) won the individual championship. Kacper Piorun (Poland) took the silver medal, Marjan Kovacevic (Serbia) came third.   

The Russian Svetlana Tishova of 17 years won the women’s tournament. 

The Russians excelled in the juniors’ tournament. First place - Danila Pavlov, second place - Alexei Popov, and third place - Svetlana Tishova.

Solving show was won by Aleksandr Bulavka (Belarus), ahead of Kacper Piorun (Poland) and Andrey Selivanov (Russia).
