Daniil Dubov Wins Lindores Abbey Rapid Challenge

The match with Nakamura was decided in Armageddon.


The final match between Hikaru Nakamura and Daniil Dubov at the Lindores Abbey Rapid Challenge finished on Chess24.com. 

The first game was drawn. Then the Russian grandmaster won with the black pieces, but the American immediately stroke back. The players made a draw in the fourth game, so the total score was equal. 

In the Armageddon game, Daniil Dubov crushed his opponent with White and became the winner of the tournament.

Dubov not only won the prize of $45,000, but also secured a place in the 4-player $300,000 Magnus Carlsen Chess Tour Grand Final.
