Chess Day with Sergey Karjakin Was Held at Ostankino Technical Center

The programme was quite eventful.

On August 29, a chess holiday was organized at the Ostankino Technical Center with the support of the Change One Life Charitable Foundation. The World rapid and blitz champion, the World vice-champion Sergey Karjakin gave a simultaneous exhibition to talented children from foster families.

In parallel, the oldest living grandmaster Yuri Averbakh (95 years old) and a young prodigy Misha Osipov (4 years) played a friendly game. The youth won.

Then a paired match was organized, where Karjakin and Osipov defeated Yuri Averbakh and the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly, the President of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov.

Other honorary guests were the 10th World Chess Champion Boris Spassky and FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.

The event was hosted by a famous sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev and a TV & Radio presenter, WGM Elmira Mirzoeva.
