CFM, Botvinnik School and Mednyi Vsadnik Lead Russian Team Championship

Ugra and St. Petersburg are heading the women's event.


The third round of the Russian Team Championships among men and women was played in the Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina in Sochi on November 21.

Results of the open tournament:

Moscow region - Mednyi Vsadnik (St. Petersburg) 1.5-4.5, Achimgaz (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug) - Molodezhka (Tyumen region) 1-5, Olympic reserve school (St. Petersburg) - M. Botvinnik school (Moscow) 2-4, CPRF (Moscow) - Ladya (Tatarstan) 3-3, and Cimmeria (Crimea) - Chess Federation of Moscow (CFM) 1-5. 

CFM, M. Botvinnik school, and Mednyi Vsadnik are leading the race with 6 match points. Ladya is 1 point behind, while Molodezhka has got 4 points.

Round 4 pairings: 

Mednyi Vsadnik - CFM, Ladya - Cimmeria, M. Botvinnik school - CPRF, Molodezhka - Olympic reserve school, Moscow region - Achimgaz.

The third round of the women's tournament happened to be utterly tough, in which all the leaders' matches finished in a draw. A peaceful outcome took place in the Olympic reserve school-1 (St. Petersburg) - Ugra, CFM - Cimmeria, Ladya - Moscow region, and Olympic reserve school-2 Achimgaz matches. Amazones Yadda (Kursk region) defeated Tolpar (Baskortostan) 3.5-0.5, while the Belgorod State University lost to Turbonasos (Voronezh region) 1.5-2.5.

Ugra and St. Petersburg are maintaining leadership with 5 match points out of 6. Amazones Yadda, CFM, and Moscow region are trailing by 2 points.
