Belaya Ladya Final Officially Opened in Olginka

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants.


The final stage of the all-Russian school team competition "Belaya Ladya" is held from May 28 till June 5, 2021, in Olginka (Krasnodar Krai).

The tournament is organised by the Chess Federation of Russia and the Russian Ministry of Sports and supported by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Foundation. The general sponsor of the Russian national chess teams is Rosseti FGC UES. The CFR general partner is PhosAgro. The CFR Partner is Aeroflot. 

Seventy-eight Russian teams and one from Belarus are taking part in the event. 

The opening ceremony took in the evening of May 28 in the open air. Alexander Tkachev, the CFR Deputy Executive Director, read out the greetings from the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Young chess stars Aleksandr Usov and Anna Shukhman took part in the flag-raising ceremony. The official part was followed by festive fireworks. 

The technical meeting was held as well. Alexander Tkachev and Chief Arbiter IA Evgeniy Shamov reminded of the key points of the Regulations. 

The match days are May 29 - June 4.  

The team competition Debut will be held from May 30 till June 3 as part of the Chess in Schools programme, co-organised by the Chess Federation of Russia and the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Foundation. This year the event will see fourteen teams from Altai, Zabaykalsky, and Krasnodar Krais, Bryansk, Kemerovo, Kurgan, Novosibirsk, Pskov, Rostov, and Tula regions, as well as from the republics of Ingushetia, Mordovia, Udmurtia, and Chuvashia.

An extensive addition programme will be traditionally organised during the Belaya Ladya. It will include master classes and lectures with grandmasters, as well as various sports and intellectual games.
