Arseniy Nesterov Wins Silver at FIDE World Junior Championship

The FIDE World Junior Championships finished in Mexico City. In the open tournament, Marc'andria Maurizzi (France), Arseniy Nesterov (Russia), Luka Budisavljevic (Serbia), and Mamikon Gharibyan (Armenia) have scored 8.5 points apiece. This is the exact order in which the additional tiebreakers have placed them in the final standings.
 
Rudik Makarian has 7.5 points, Savva Vetokhin and Roman Gavrilin - 6.5 points each.
 
Candela Belen Francisco Guecamburu (Argentina) has become the World Junior Girls' Champion. She has scored 8.5 points to take over Carissa Yip (USA) and Beloslava Krasteva (Bulgaria) by additional tie-breakers.
 
Galina Mikheeva of Russia finished sixth with 8 points. Tatyana Getman is 21st with 6.5 points.

Our junior player finished the tournament by winning four games in a row, and in the final round he defeated the rating favourite Hans Niemann as Black.
