RCF President Andrey Filatov Receives State Decoration

The award was given by the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

On Friday, June 10, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was awarding state decorations, and the RCF President Andrey Filatov was among those who received the awards. Earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on awarding the President of the Russian Chess Federation and FIDE Vice President Andrey Filatov with a medal of Class 2 Order For Merit to the Fatherland, for merits in development of physical culture and sports, and long-standing commitment and diligent work.

“I am proud and extremely grateful for the high appreciation of my work, – said Russian Chess Federation President Andrey Filatov. This high award creates new motivation for me to pursue and step up my efforts to actively and consistently promote existing programs and elaborate new projects to support and develop Russian chess and the country’s intellectual potential.”
