Andrey Esipenko Shares Second Place at Tata Steel Masters

His rating passed the 2700 mark.

The tenth round of the Tata Steel Masters was played in Wijk aan Zee on January 27. 

Andrey Esipenko outplayed David Anton with White. In the middlegame, he mad a breakthrough on the queenside, after which Black's position gradually fell apart. The Russian's current parting has passed the 2700 mark. 

Anish Giri defeated Radoslaw Wojtaszek to take the sole lead. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave scored his first victory in the tournament, having beaten Alexander Donchenko. The games Caruana - Carlsen, Duda - Van Foreest, Harikrishna - Tari, and Grandelius - Firouzja were drawn.
