Anatoly Karpov Wins Chess Legends Tournament
The event takes place in Platja d'Aro.
The 6th International Chess Festival finishes in Platja d'Aro. The event included the Tournament of Chess Legends which saw Anatoly Karpov (Russia), Anatoly Vaisser (France), Ljubomir Ljubojevic (Serbia), and Eugenio Torre (Philippines). Famous grandmasters played 6 rounds in rapid and 12 rounds in blitz.
The 12th World Champion Anatoly Karpov scored 12.5 points in rapid and blitz to celebrate his 184th victory in tournaments.
Anatoly Vaisser is second with 12 points. Ljubomir Ljubojevic took the third place with 7.5 points. Eugenio Torre finished fourth with 7 points.
