Alexander Motylev Leads Russian Rapid Championship
Women’s event is headed by Alina Kashlinskaya.
The Russian individual rapid championships among men, women and seniors started in Grand Hotel Zhemchuzhina, Sochi. On September 30, the first 5 rounds (15+10) were played. Alexander Motylev is leading the open event with 5 points out of 5. Ernesto Inarkiev, Dmitry Jakovenko, Evgeny Tomashevsky, Denis Khismatullin, and Vladimir Potkin are half a point behind.
Alina Kashlinskaya has a perfect score in the women’s event. Oksana Gritsayeva, Aleksandra Goryachkina, Dina Drozdova, Anastasia Bodnaruk, Karina Ambartsumova, and Ekaterina Goltseva are trailing by 1 point.
Evgenij Kalegin and Evgeny Sveshnikov are heading the seniors’ tournament with 4.5 points. Galina Strutinskaya is leading the senior women’s section with 4.5 points; Ludmila Saunina is half a point behind.
The second half of the tournament will take place on October 1. Round 6 starts at 2 p.m.
