Al-Ain ACMG UAE Wins World Rapid Team Championship in Astana

The team includes five Russian chess players.

Team Al-Ain ACMG UAE won the World Rapid Team Championship with 21 match points in 12 rounds. The team consists of Daniil Dubov (Russia), Parham Maghsoodloo (Iran), Vladislav Artemiev, Dmitry Andreikin, Volodar Murzin, Kateryna Lagno (all - Russia), Zhu Jiner (China), Wafia Darwish Al Maamari (UAE), and Ibragim Galymzhanuly (Kazakhstan). 
 
Second place went to the Decade China Team (20 points), featuring World Champions Ding Liren and Ju Wenjun, as well as other members of Team China - Wei Yi, Yu Yangyi, Wang Yue, Li Chao, and others. 
 
Third place was snatched at the last moment by the favourite WR Chess Team (19 points) consisting of Magnus Carlsen (Norway), Ian Nepomniachtchi (Russia), Jan-Krzysztof Duda (Poland), Nodirbek Abdusattorov (Uzbekistan), Vincent Keymer (Germany), Hou Yifan (China), Alexandra Kosteniuk (Switzerland), and Vadim Rosenstein (Germany). 
 
The World Blitz Team Championship will be held on 5 August. Teams will be split into pools, playing a round-robin tournament, with the top 16 teams qualifying for the knock-out stage. The games will start at 9 AM Moscow time.
