World Strongest Grandmasters Arrive in Stavanger

The 6th edition of Altibox Norway Chess will be held in Stavanger from May 27 to June 8.
Traditionally, the super tournaments attracts world strongest players. This year the line-up is as follows: Magnus Carlsen (Norway, 2843), Fabiano Caruana (USA, 2818), Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (Azerbaijan, 2808), Ding Liren (China, 2791), Maxim Vachier-Lagrave (France, 2789), Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2787), Wesley So (USA, 2786), Sergey Karjakin (Russia, 2782), Levon Aronian (Armenia, 2764), and Viswanathan Anand (India, 2760).
On 27, a blitz tournament will be organized to determine the starting numbers. The first games of the super tournament will be played on May 28.
The match days: May 28-30, June 1-3 and 5-7. Free days: May 31 and June 4. The games start at 5:30 (Moscow time).
In case of a tie for first two blitz games are played followed, if necessary, by Armageddon.
