Vladimir Fedoseev wins the Dubai Blitz
He also leads after seven rounds of the traditional Dubai Open.
A traditional blitz tournament organized during the 17th Dubai Open was attended by 80 players. The Russian Vladimir Fedoseev scored 10/11 and finished a clear first, one and a half point ahead of Gadir Guseinov (Azerbaijan). Four players collected 8 points – Yuri Kuzubov (Ukraine), Igor Kovalenko (Lavtia), Sergey Zhigalko (Belarus), and Tigran Petrosian (Armenia).
7 rounds are played in the classical chess open tournament. Vladimir Fedoseev has 6 points and is tied for the first place with Alexander Shabalov (USA). Seven players have 5.5 points – Dragan Solak (Turkey), Nils Grandelius (Sweden), David Howell (England), Yuri Solodovnichenko (Ukraine), Gadir Guseinov, Zaur Mammadov, and Eltaj Safarli (all from Azerbaijan).
