Valerij Popov Wins European Rapid Championship

Andrey Esipenko becomes second!

The European Rapid Championship finished in Skopje. More than 400 participants played 13 rounds according to the Swiss system.  

The Russian Valerij Popov became the European Rapid Champion having scored 10.5 points and edged out his pursuers Andrey Esipenko (2nd place, Russia), Vahap Sanal (3rd place, Turkey), and Luca Moroni (4th place, Italy) on tie-break.
