Schoolchildren from Saint Petersburg Strengthen Leadership at Belaya Ladya in Sochi

Russian youth team is ahead in a friendly match vs. India.


The penultimate eighth round of the 50th Belaya Ladya final was played in Dagomys on June 9. Results of the leaders' matches are as follows: Saint Petersburg 3-1, Moscow - Mongolia 2.5-1.5, Tatarstan - Novosibirsk region 1.5-2.5, Nizhny Novgorod region - Yamalo-Nenents autonomous district 2-2, Arkhangelsk region - Astrakhan region 1.5-2.5. 

The team Saint Petersburg has strengthened the leadership with 24 points out of 32. The teams from Moscow and Mongolia are 2.5 points behind.  



Pairings and results

A match between school teams of Russia and India is being played as part of the event. It is a two-format contest in standard and blitz chess. A team is made up of two boys and two girls born in 2005 and later. The Indian team won 2.5-1.5 in the final eighth round in classical chess. The score is 16.5-15.5 in favour of the Russian chess players.

The teams are to play 8 blitz rounds on June 10. 



Pairings and results

A rich cultural and entertaining program is traditionally organized for young players and will last throughout the entire event.
